Rev Up Your Ride: Magicycle Jaguarundi Folding E-Bike Review
Are you looking for a good-quality, reasonably-priced folding electric bike that can take you wherever you need to go? Then you need to take a look at the Magicycle Jaguarundi 52V Folding Step-Through Electric Bike. This bike is the ideal choice for adults who need an efficient and reliable way to get around town, head out on trails, or go for a leisurely ride around the neighborhood.
With its powerful 52V battery, easy-to-fold design, and comfortable step-through frame that is ideal for seniors or anyone who struggles with mobility issues, this electric bike is perfect for those who want to get around quickly and comfortably.
Another thing to take note of, this bike does need some assembly but have no fear, the Jaguarundi goes together quite easily and very quickly.
The Jaguarundi is a really nice looking bike, it comes in three different colors, Midnight Blue, Space Black, or Pearl White, Midnight Blue is particularly eye-catching. This bike is also easy to get on and off of thanks to the low step-through design and can be easily folded and placed in your car, or SUV, and if you live in an apartment it can be conveniently stored taking up very little space.
All you do to get this bike folded down is push the button on the first locking lever mechanism which is located under the handlebar and pull the lever down, this allows you to swing the entire handlebar system off to the side, then, at the bottom of the front downtube you will find the other locking lever, just do the same with that one and the bike will swing and fold to the right, done, just like that!
The bike also comes with a handy little stand on the bottom of the bike that keeps it upright when it’s folded down.
The 52V 15Ah large capacity lithium battery offers great range and battery life and you can expect to get between 30 – 55 miles on a single charge, of course, factors such as terrain, rider weight, and how much pedaling you do will all have an impact on those numbers.
The Jaguarundi is equipped with big 20″ x 4″ Kenda Krusade Tires that have a good amount of aggressive tread that can handle trails and rough terrain with relative ease and should last a long time. Along with the big Kenda tires, the Jaguarundi also has a decent front fork that helps smooth out any bumps, and you can lock or unlock this fork whenever you like depending on how you want the bike to ride.
The Jaguarundi’s braking system is a 180mm hydraulic disc brake system made by Bengal. We are big fans of hydraulic braking systems compared to mechanical disc brake systems simply because they provide a lot more breaking power and these brakes work extremely well.
The gear shifter on this bike is your standard Shimano 7-speed gear shifter you see on many similar bikes and the derailleur again is a Shimano Tourney derailleur system. The handlebars on this bike are nice and wide and are adjustable, they can be raised or lowered which makes for better stability when riding.
And one other nice feature about this bike is the cruise control, all you need to do to make this work is just hold the throttle at whatever speed you are at for eight seconds then release the throttle and you are in cruise control, and if you want to get out of that function, just simply apply the brakes or start pedaling and that will disengage the cruise control. Really cool feature!
The LCD Display on this bike is a bit small but does have everything you need, it does come with a USB charging port and is easy to read. This bike is also equipped with a 7-level Intelligent Pedal-Assist with a 12-magnet cadence sensor system.
The Jaguarundi isn’t shy on power, this bikes come with a 600W, 750W peak high-power brushless rear hub motor that provides plenty of power to get you up to speed quickly, over rougher terrain and up moderately steep hills all very easily.
The saddle that comes with the Jaguarundi is surprisingly comfortable which isn’t the case most of the time with stock saddles but this one is better than most and it comes with a convenient handle on the bottom side of the seat which helps make it easier to pick the bike up and carry it when you need to. The seat is also adjustable.
The Jaguarundi is a well-built bike but it is a bit heavier weighing in at 72 lbs but by no means is this bike too hard to handle. This bike also boasts an impressive 350 lb max load capacity and can easily accommodate riders from 4′ 10″ and up.
